Julie has been involved with Roger’s House since June of 2003 when the Senators Foundation and Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario announced the dream to develop a pediatric palliative care hospice in honour of Roger Neilson. Julie served as Chair of the steering committee and then as Inaugural Chair of the Board of Directors of Roger’s House. She continues as a trustee on the Board of Directors. In addition to her professional and business activities and her involvement with Roger’s House she has for 16 years acted as a board trustee at CHEO including serving as Chair. President of Tubman Funeral Homes and Maisons Funéraires Cadieux Tubman, Julie has helped thousands of families cope with the pain of loss.
She has been the recipient of the Just One Person Award from the Ottawa Senators Foundation and the Max Keeping Foundation--recognizing her contribution of making a significant difference in the lives of children and youth. She has also been awarded the Ontario Funeral Service Association Humanitarian Award, Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year (2006) and the Women’s Business Network Business Woman of the Year (2006).
