Research Initiatives
Research Principles
Five guiding principles lay the foundation for research initiatives at Roger's House:
- All research is geared towards advancing our patient care and improving patient outcomes.
- A member of the CHEO Palliative Care Team and/or Roger's House is a co-investigator of any research involving Roger's House guests and their families.
- All research proposals are approved by the Research Committee.
- Both quantitative and qualitative studies are supported by the Research Committee.
- The development and use of documentation tools support research initiatives.
Research Priorities
- End of life symptom treatment, recognition and monitoring
- Parent's assurance of the quality of care
- Pain assessment and control in palliative care patients
- Bereavement
