Maya, you are my mentor. I was so proud to have finally been able to introduce you to friends and family, outside of the antiseptic smells and humming machines of the hospital. I'm sorry, though, that our sole shopping trip was for your final outfit. Elena, the nurse, loved your beautiful Spanish sandals and your red nail polish and the gorgeous summer dress that Jackie brought you from Colombia. You looked beautiful, my darling. http://www.ottawacitizen.com/wise+soul/3034521/story.html
